||A geographically distributed multi-reasoning mechanism for change negotiation management of large scale engineering systems

||In large scale engineering projects, no design process can perfectly forecast every aspect of detailed project conditions. Sometimes oversights, mistakes or changes in the design must be corrected, and sometimes completely external factors also force changes in the situation. The basis for most changes is some form of conflict. In addition, the negotiation of such conflicts frequently results in suboptimal, inefficient agreements leading negotiators to believe that they could have reached other settlements.This paper presents the preliminary results of a research that explores mechanisms to provide a model for this negotiation process and applies automated multi- reasoning and learning mechanisms to the same. The ultimate goal of this research is to provide negotiators with precedence information to help them reason in a co-operative way assisting in the effort to seek "all-gain" rather than "win-lose" solutions.
