||This paper reviews knowledge-based and decision support techniques in theconstruction industry with a view to highlighting how constructionorganisations can exploit knowledge as an asset. It introduces KnowledgeManagement and Decision Support Techniques and provides information onexample applications that demonstrate their use in construction and nonconstructionsectors. Guidelines for deciding on the suitability ofknowledge-based techniques for solving a given problem are provided.
