Paper title: Accuracy of elastic bending moments for the design of r.c.floorslabs calculated with finite-element-software
Authors: Schaper G, Schole H, Trippe K
Summary: Design moments of conventional floorslabs are more and more analysed with finite elementprograms. To get moments of sufficient accuracy for the design in practice, some principles are toconsider concerning the finite element mesh-layout, especially in areas of strongly increasingmoments. The influence of element size as well as square or distorted quadrilateral shape on theaccuracy of the calculated moments in r.c. floorslabs is evaluated by two typical examples, using thefinite-element-programs CS-FEBA [4] and MicroFe [6] The moments analysed by the finite elementmethod are compared to linear elastic solutions, given in tables [ l ] and [ 21.
