Paper title: Information flows from building construction to facilitygenerate the maintenance strategy documentmanagement: using a bill of quantities database to
Authors: Wordsworth P, Riley M
Summary: This paper is about the transition of a new building from the construction phase to occupation andmanagement, and the flow of information across this boundary. It is based on work done totranspose the construction data from the Bill of Quantities and to reformat it into a maintenancemanual and strategic facility management plan, for a new f6m University Learning ResourcesCentre building. The process involved restructuring and reinterpreting the data in the Bill inconjunction with a post-occupancy survey analysis of the new facility, to provide the facilitymanager with a forward-looking and detailed plan.
