Authors: Jackson, Rosemary M.
Summary: The aim of this research is to examine and compare the legislation and valuation methodology for the expropriation of land within a number of European countries. The research will identify the legal basis for the expropriation of land for the common good in the selected countries. It will then analyse and contrast the valuation techniques and methodology used by valuers in their respective countries in this area of statutory valuation. The research methodology is to be based on a legal literature search and review, description of country specific appropriate valuation methodology and questioning of professional valuers from the countries on a number of given scenarios.
