Paper title: THE ATTITUDES OF TENANTS CONCERNING ENVIRONMENTAL QUESTIONS
Authors: Kippes, Stephan
Summary: Over the last few years more stringent environmental laws and soaring energy prices increased the need for the real estate industry to react. In this paper environmental issues concerning the German housing market shall be analyzed. The attitudes of tenants (and to certain degree home owners) concerning environmental questions are analyzed. One important question raised in this paper is whether tenants are willing to pay for improvements at their flats which help them to save energy and therefore money and which have a positive impact on the environment. The paper compares data from different studies with own data. Beside this the attitudes of tenants will be compared with data from another important industry, the automotive industry.
