Paper title: Recent changes in the use of inforrmation technologyby the Australian construction industry
Authors: Stewart P
Summary: The construction industry in Australia has undergone significantrestructuring in the past three years, and many companies areintroducing information technology to displace labour and reduceoperating costs. CAD systems are now being used widely, and theexchange of data is occurring at an increasing rate between alldisciplines. This period of change provides the industry with anopportunity to introduce a rational approach to the exchange ofinformation, and the possibility of collaboration on computerisedsystems that would have application across the constructionindustry.
