Paper title: Core process models andapplication areas in construction
Authors: Froese T
Summary: Integrated computer systems for the construction industry require high-level, general purpose core models of construction information to supportinformation sharing. This paper introduces core models for building andconstruction, in particular an effort within the IS0 STEP organization. Thepaper then reviews several typical areas of computer applications forconstruction-planning and scheduling, estimating and cost control, andcontract and document management-and discusses the implications of eachapplication area on core models of construction processes.
