Paper title: Increasing on-site productivity through wireless computer control
Authors: Boussabaine A H, Grew B R, Currin D
Summary: Improving productivity has been a major objective of the building industry, and indeed in all forms of business for many years. The constructionprocess involves many complex processes, which make it inherentlydifficult to manage and can obviously lead to much inefficiency within theprocess. It is possible for a wireless communications system to be adaptedfor use on construction sites in order to improve management control overtasks and communication between parties involved in the project. Thisfeasibility study shows that the implementation of such a system could leadto significant time savings over traditional paper-based management andadministration systems.
